Hi, thanks for dropping in. All of my work was made after I'd emailed people to ask them for stories about items of clothing or objects remembered from their past. From the recollections I received, I then reinterpreted the stories into new textile artefacts, using hand and machine stitch. It's facinating to hear about someone's favourite dress or their mother's old leather gloves etc. I love the way in which a memory is recounted and the choice of words used in email. I'm always on the hunt for new stories for my work so if you have a memory of a particular garment or object from your home, whether it belonged to you or another, then I'd love you to share that here.
